Bridal Shop Aberdeen
Bijoux Bridal is an appointment-only bridal shop in Hamilton, open to Aberdeen brides who book ahead to browse hundreds of designer wedding dresses and gowns.
Every visit is built around a ninety-minute appointment with our stylists, who work through the boutique’s full stock, more than a dozen designer labels in sizes 6 to 36, based on the style you’re drawn to on the day.
Booking means securing your fitting room, a considered first selection, and our stylists’ full attention are already waiting when your appointment starts.

Shopping at our bridal shop
A shop, in the traditional sense, lets you wander in and browse whenever the doors happen to be open.
Bijoux works differently: every visit runs by appointment, to give each bride-to-be the attention they deserve to find the dress of their dreams.
Fitting areas sit close together, with other brides and their own groups nearby, because Bijoux is built around a shared, community feel rather than a closed-door consultation.
Same-week appointments are often possible if your trip from Aberdeen needs to happen on short notice, so it’s always worth calling rather than assuming the diary’s full.
The appointment-only model also means the boutique isn’t split between browsing customers and people who’ve booked.
The time set aside for your visit is genuinely yours.

What a wedding dress costs, collection by collection
Ready-to-Wear is the most affordable collection, so it’s the one to look at first if budget matters most.
Gowns are priced between £499 and £999, cover ex-sample dresses plus a handful of brand-new styles, and go home with you the same day.
Once these dresses are taken, they often don’t return! If you see a gown in your size in our Look book, we always recommend booking as quickly as possible before it is gone.
Quick Delivery and Made to Order both involve a genuinely new gown made for you.
Pricing depends on the designer and how much customisation is involved.
We’ll always confirm an exact figure once a dress is chosen, never before so you have realistic expectations.
Timing your budget, not just your dress
Timeline matters for budgeting as much as the collection itself.
A Made to Order gown needs roughly five months to be made, and the alterations that follow with our independent seamstress add another six to twelve weeks on top.
Quick Delivery sits in the middle for exactly this reason.
It gives you a brand-new gown without anywhere near that wait, which suits a bride who’s short on time but still wants more than what’s already on the rail.
Working backwards from a wedding date, an earlier first appointment simply gives that cost and that planning more room to spread out, rather than landing all at once close to the day.
Your appointment at Bijoux, step by step
Wedding planning is an exciting time, but it can also lead to some nerves.
Knowing what happens once you arrive takes a lot of the nerves out of a first visit.
Before you arrive
Booking happens online through our scheduler or by phone.
Ready-to-Wear appointments are free on weekdays, with a small charge at weekends given how much more in demand those slots are.
Our stylists will often give you a short call or message beforehand covers your wedding date, rough budget and dress size, purely so the boutique has a starting point before you arrive.
A little extra preparation goes further than most brides expect.
Nude or seamless underwear works best under lighter fabrics, and shoes close to your actual wedding heel height help a stylist judge length properly.
If you forget to bring heels to your appointment, not to worry! We have a range of four inch heels in a variety of sizes to give you a rough idea of what it will look like on the big day.
Bring any inspiration you’ve collected too, whether that’s a folder of screenshots or a single dress from Instagram, rather than trying to describe it from memory.
It gives our stylists something concrete to start pulling from.
In the fitting room
Our stylists open with a conversation about what you’ve loved online and what you’re hoping to avoid.
Then draw on their expertise to pull a first selection from across the boutique rather than from a preset list.
You try on as many gowns as you want, with up to four guests and prosecco alongside you, and nothing is off limits if something catches your eye on the rail.
If nothing feels right yet, come back for a second appointment.
There’s no charge for a return visit, and taking more than one trip to decide is completely normal.
Once you’ve said yes, the order goes in there and then, and our stylists talk you through what happens next for your particular collection and designer.
Accessories and finishing touches
Once a gown is chosen, the accessory rail is where the rest of the look comes together.
Veils, headpieces, combs, hair vines, and the smaller details a photograph often ends up focusing on.
It’s also where a couture Allure gown picks up its final touch of elegance, or a Veni Infantino piece gets its last layer of luxury detail.
A cathedral or chapel-length veil tends to suit a fuller ballgown or fishtail cut.
A shorter fingertip or blusher length works better with a plainer style, a Stella York sheath being a good example, or a fit-and-flare cut.
Some brides also ask about shapewear underneath the gown.
It’s entirely optional and purely about extra support and confidence on the day, if you are considering shapewear but don’t know where to start, we can happily offer suggestions.
Getting the pairing right
Jewellery and hair accessories work best chosen against the chosen gown rather than guessed at beforehand, since a neckline or beading pattern often rules certain pieces out on sight.
A comb sits differently depending on whether hair’s worn up or down, which is easier to judge once the dress is on rather than from a photo.
Choosing these pieces usually happens at a later fitting, once the dress itself is settled, so there’s no pressure to arrive with a veil and jewellery already picked out.
Once the gown arrives
An independent seamstress takes over rather than an in-house team, and her brief (depending on the dress itself) covers hemming, taking the fit in or out through the side seams, and building a bustle for the reception.
Fitting appointments get scheduled around that work as it progresses.
The aim is always to have everything finished with room to spare rather than cutting it fine before the wedding.

Your day out from Aberdeen and the North East
Hamilton is a proper trip from Aberdeen and the North East, so it helps to treat the visit as a big, special day out rather than an errand to squeeze into a lunch break.
The boutique sits on Castle Street with free parking right outside, and a railway station within walking distance for anyone in the group who’d rather not do the drive both ways.
Weekday appointments tend to be quieter than weekends, which matters more once you’ve already committed the best part of a day to getting there and back.
FAQs on our bridal shop
Is there a fee to book an appointment?
Ready-to-Wear appointments are free on weekdays and carry a small charge at weekends, since weekend slots are in much higher demand. Quick Delivery and Made to Order appointments aren’t affected by this, and we’ll always confirm any charge before you book.
If I don’t decide on my first visit, how do I book a second one?
The same way as your first appointment, through the online scheduler or by phone. It’s worth booking before you leave the boutique if you can, so a return trip from Aberdeen doesn’t end up waiting on a fully booked diary.
Do I need to bring my own veil and accessories, or can I find them at Bijoux?
You’ll find veils, headpieces and other finishing pieces on our accessory rail, so there’s no need to source them elsewhere first. Bring your own if you already have something in mind, and our stylists will help it work with the gown rather than replace it with something from the rail.
Is alterations included, or handled separately?
Alterations are handled separately, by an independent seamstress rather than an in-house team, once your gown has arrived. Fitting appointments get booked in around her schedule from that point.
Is a weekday or weekend visit better for a long trip from Aberdeen?
Weekdays tend to be quieter and, for Ready-to-Wear appointments, free rather than chargeable. If your schedule allows it, a weekday trip usually makes for a calmer visit after a couple of hours on the road.
