Where some of our designers lean towards classic romance or structured minimalism, Stella York brings a playfulness that you notice straight away on the rail, with oversized bows, statement lace, unexpected cutouts, and dramatic trains that pool behind you when you walk.

You feel the construction quality as soon as you put one on. The fabrics, from French lace, soft tulle, and satin to chiffon and stretch crepe, are well chosen and well finished, and the internal boning gives the dresses a shape that holds all day without digging or sliding.

Styles and collections

Stella York works across every major silhouette, and their A-line gowns are consistently strong, with flattering shapes that skim from the waist and suit a wide range of body types.

Their ballgowns are properly dramatic, with full tulle or organza skirts and structured bodices that create a real entrance, and the fit-and-flare and mermaid shapes follow the body closely through the torso and hip before opening out.

In the current collections, these come with details like detachable sleeves, sheer panels, and lace that continues all the way through the train.

Stella York’s EveryBody/EveryBride collection is designed for brides in sizes 18 to 36, with every gown designed for curvier figures from the start.

The boning, the seaming, and the placement of lace and detailing are all positioned to flatter and support, and the fabrics are chosen for how they drape and move on a curvier frame.

We carry EveryBody/EveryBride samples in store at Bijoux so you can try them on during your appointment, and our stylists will know which gowns from the range suit what you’re looking for.

How Stella York dresses fit

Stella York tends to run true to size, and the internal construction, particularly the boning through the bodice, gives their dresses a supportive structure that holds its shape from the ceremony right through to the last dance.

We carry a wide range of sample sizes, and our stylists are experts at clipping and pinning so you can see what any style will look like in your size.

If you need modifications once your dress arrives, like adjusting a neckline, shortening a hem, or adding straps, our independent seamstress works with Stella York gowns regularly and knows the construction well.

Most brides need only minor adjustments because the made-to-measure process gets the fit close before any alterations begin.

Stella York is part of Essense Designs, the company behind Essense of Australia, which we also stock at Bijoux. The two brands share a design team but target different aesthetics: Essense of Australia is the more romantic, classically bridal label with intricate lace work and timeless silhouettes, while Stella York takes a more trend-driven approach with bolder details and a more playful personality.
