…It was the opposite of the joyful experience I had dreamed of.
Everything changed when I discovered a small bridal shop in a village in the West of Scotland. It was warm and welcoming, and most importantly, it felt like home.
The staff understood me.
The dresses fit beautifully.
And I felt like I was treated with the kindness and respect I deserved.
This experience inspired me to create Bijoux – a place where brides can feel safe, understood, and celebrated.
I opened Bijoux in 2011 in an industrial estate in Motherwell, right next to a tyre replacement garage.
It wasn’t glamorous, but it was mine, and it was built with love and passion.
From day one, I was involved in every part of the business – operations, sales, marketing – you name it.
But I never lost sight of my mission to make every bride feel special because I was that bride who needed a safe place to find her dream dress.
Bijoux grew faster than I ever imagined.
By 2014, we moved to a larger location, and we’ve continued to expand every year since.
But no matter how much we grow, our core mission remains the same: to provide a welcoming, non-judgemental space for brides of all shapes and sizes.
Our team at Bijoux is dedicated to making every bride feel beautiful, confident, and loved.
We understand that buying a wedding dress is a significant, emotional milestone. It’s the most special purchase for the most magical day of your life. We are here to ensure you have stress-free, supportive, and joyful experience.
We like to call our brides-to-be “Bijoux Brides”.
