Wedding Dresses Aberdeen
Bijoux Bridal is Scotland’s largest bridal boutique.
We welcome brides from Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire to find their dream wedding dress among hundreds of designer gowns at our Hamilton boutique.
Every appointment runs ninety minutes with our stylists, who pull dresses from across the boutique and offer expert style advice based on what you love once you’re here, not from a form filled in beforehand.
More than a dozen designer labels sit on our rails, sizes 6 through to 36, split across three collections built around different budgets and timelines.
A dress this important deserves real choice, and Aberdeen brides regularly make the trip to our Hamilton shop to get it.

Your wedding dress collection options
Every Aberdeen bride starts in a different place.
Some want to take a gown home today, some are happy to wait months for something made especially for them, and most fall somewhere in between.
Bijoux’s three collections exist precisely so budget and timeline don’t force you into the wrong dress just because the clock’s ticking.
Ready-to-Wear
Ready-to-Wear covers ex-sample gowns and a handful of brand-new styles, priced between £499 and £999, and you can walk out wearing yours the same day.
It’s what people mean by an “off the peg” wedding dress.
No lead time, no waiting for a reveal appointment.
Sizes are more limited, usually just one of each dress on the rail, so it suits Aberdeen brides working to a tighter budget or a wedding that’s coming up excitedly fast.
Quick Delivery
With Quick Delivery, a brand-new gown is still made specifically for you, only the production window shrinks to roughly twelve weeks instead of the longer wait.
You still get the full experience in store, choosing your dress and coming back for a dedicated reveal appointment once it arrives.
Customisation is more limited than Made to Order, simply because there’s less time in production.
But it’s a genuine answer for brides who started shopping a little later and still want something made for them rather than pulled straight off the rail.
Made to Order
Made to Order opens up the broadest choice of styles from our designers.
Almost everything on the boutique floor can be ordered this way, for a dress that is made especially for you and you alone.
Expect roughly a five-month wait for the gown itself, then a further six to twelve weeks in the hands of our independent seamstress, so we’d recommend Aberdeen brides book their first appointment at least seven months before the wedding.
It suits anyone who wants time to properly enjoy choosing, rather than deciding under pressure.

Designer wedding dresses and bridal gown styles
Every gown at Bijoux comes from one of more than a dozen designers, carefully curated so that whatever silhouette or fabric catches your eye, there’s a version of it on our rails, and you’ll be spoiled for choice.
Rather than listing every label, it’s easier to group them by the mood a bride is usually chasing when she walks through the door.
Romantic and detailed
If you’re drawn to lace, beading and softer, figure-loving cuts, Maggie Sottero and its sister label Sottero and Midgley are a good place to start.
The wider Allure family, Allure Romance, Allure Couture and Abella, sits alongside them.
Brides reach for this group when they want a gown that feels timeless, detailed and elegant.

Sleek and modern
Stella York and Justin Alexander sit at the cleaner end of the collection, with contemporary lines and less embellishment.
Both work particularly well in a fit-and-flare or sheath silhouette.
If your inspiration board leans towards minimal necklines, clean satin, and a dress that moves rather than one that stands still, this is usually where our stylists start pulling.
A sheath or fit-and-flare cut is comfortable to move in and just as elegant to look at.

Classic ballgown and fishtail
A ballgown gives you a fitted bodice under a full, sweeping skirt, the traditional choice for a grand entrance.
A mermaid, or fishtail, cut skims close through the body before flaring out below the knee.
An A-line sits between the two, fitted at the waist and flowing gently outward, which is often where an Aberdeen bride starts if she isn’t sure yet.
Morilee spans real breadth on its own, from the main range through Blu, Amy and Eve, Voyage and Julietta, while Veni Infantino sits in a category of its own as the brand’s Premier Stockist in Scotland.
Tania Olsen and Essense of Australia round things out, the latter through its EveryBody/EveryBride collection, designed specifically for curvier figures in sizes 18 to 36 rather than a smaller pattern scaled up.

Bridal dress sizes 6 to 36, and getting the fit right
Trying on a wedding dress should feel exciting rather than limiting.
Sample gowns at Bijoux run from a UK size 6 right up to a 36, and you’re not restricted to whatever size a shop happened to order in.
When a sample sits a size or two away from your own, clipping and pinning is how our stylists show you the way the finished, made-to-order gown will sit and move.
It’s a completely standard part of bridal shopping, not a sign that a dress doesn’t come in your size.
Whatever size you wear, you spend the same length of time with our stylists in the same relaxed atmosphere.
Don’t worry if you’re nervous to start searching!
Our talented stylists aim to have you feel completely at ease within the first few minutes, prosecco included.
Bridal accessories and the finishing details
Once your gown is chosen, you can move on to veils, headpieces and the other finishing pieces on the accessory rail.
Choosing a veil normally waits until a later fitting, after the dress itself has been settled, rather than happening on your first visit.
A cathedral veil suits a bigger, more traditional ballgown, while a shorter fingertip or blusher veil tends to sit better against something simpler or more structured.
There’s no need to arrive with a fixed idea.
Bring inspiration if you have it, and our stylists will show you how a veil, headpiece, comb or hair vine changes the whole look of a dress once it’s on.
Once you’ve said yes to your gown
Ordering and alterations follow a fairly predictable timeline, even though the exact date depends on the designer and collection you’ve chosen.
The wait itself varies by collection, but either way, our talented independent seamstress picks up the work as soon as the dress lands.
Her tasks range from a straightforward hem and bustle to more involved changes like adding sleeves or reshaping a neckline.
They are usually spread across a run of fitting appointments before the final gown is ready.
Between the five-month wait for Made-to-Order collection and the alterations afterwards, booking your first appointment at least seven months before the wedding gives an Aberdeen bride enough room for everything, including the drive back and forth.
Worth the road trip from Aberdeen
Hamilton sits roughly 145 miles south of Aberdeen, heading down the A90 through Perthshire before picking up the motorway network into the central belt.
It’s a memorable day out rather than a quick pop-in, so it’s worth building your appointment around a weekend and making a proper day of it with whoever you’re bringing along.
Parking is free directly outside our boutique, located on Castle Street, so there’s nowhere to circle for once you’ve made the drive, and Hamilton also has a railway station a short walk away if anyone in your group would rather leave the driving to someone else.
How it works at Bijoux Bridal
- Book your ninety-minute appointment online or by phone, ideally a few weeks ahead if you’re planning the trip from Aberdeen around a specific weekend.
- Let us know your wedding date, venue and rough dress size when you book, purely so we can plan your visit. What gets pulled on the day comes from the conversation you have with our stylists in the room, not the booking form.
- Try on as many gowns as you like across all three collections, with up to four guests and prosecco while you do it.
- Take your time deciding. Some brides order there and then, others come back for a second appointment, and both are completely normal.
- Once you’ve chosen, we place the order and talk you through the delivery and alteration timeline for your particular gown.
FAQs on our wedding dress shop
How much does a wedding dress cost at Bijoux?
Ready-to-Wear is the most affordable starting point, priced between £499 and £999, with same-day collection once you’ve chosen. Made to Order and Quick Delivery gowns cost more, since they open up a wider choice of styles and, with Made to Order, genuine customisation. We’ll always confirm the exact price once you’ve chosen a dress, so there’s no guessing beforehand.
What does “off the peg” mean?
It’s another way of describing Ready-to-Wear: a gown that already exists on the rail in a specific size, rather than one ordered and made afterwards. At Bijoux, that covers ex-sample dresses and a small run of brand-new styles, priced from £499 to £999, and available to take home on the day you choose it.
How far ahead should I book if I’m travelling from Aberdeen?
The general rule, if you want the most from our collection, is at least seven months before the wedding. This covers a five-month wait for a Made to Order gown plus alterations afterwards. If your date’s closer than that, Ready-to-Wear or Quick Delivery are both worth asking about, since neither needs anywhere near as much lead time.
Your Bijoux bridal journey starts here
Three collections, hundreds of designer gowns, and sizes 6 to 36 on the floor: whatever brought you here, there’s likely a dress waiting that you haven’t seen online yet.
Owner Lynsay Spiers has spent fifteen years building that selection, since opening the doors in 2009, and 2025 alone brought both Best Bridal Retailer in Scotland and the Bridal Buyer Awards’ Bridalwear Retailer of the Year.
Reviews echo it too. We are proud to have surpassed a thousand five-star ratings on Google, from brides who made the same trip from Aberdeen and further afield.
