What is EveryBody/EveryBride?

EveryBody/EveryBride is a dedicated bridal program from Essense Designs, the family-owned company behind both Stella York and Essense of Australia.

Created by Chief Creative Officer Martine Harris, the program launched in 2017 with a straightforward idea: the same designs from the main Stella York and Essense of Australia collections, available in sizes 18 to 34, designed specifically for curvier figures. These are not a separate or simplified range, and they are offered at no additional cost over the standard sizes. If you love a gown from either brand’s current collection, it is very likely available through EveryBody/EveryBride with the same fabrics, the same detailing, and the same construction quality. The difference is in how the dress is built, not in what it looks like.

How the dresses are made

What sets EveryBody/EveryBride apart from standard plus-size options is the pattern work. Each gown is drafted for a curvier figure from the start, so the placement of boning, seaming, and lace detailing is positioned for how the dress will actually sit on your body rather than adjusted after the fact.

The corsetry through the bodice is a particular strength because Essense Designs’ background is in corsetry, and the internal support structure in these gowns means the bodice holds its shape all day without needing separate undergarments or additional boning underneath.

Some styles use visible boning through sheer panels as a design feature, while others keep the corsetry hidden beneath lace overlays or lined bodices for a smoother line. The fabrics include everything from structured mikado and satin to flowing tulle, chiffon, and stretch crepe, and each is chosen for how it drapes and moves on a curvier frame rather than just for how it looks on a hanger.

You get the same Swarovski crystals, hand-sewn beading, and lace applique, from fine Chantilly to bold 3D floral, that appears across the standard Stella York and Essense of Australia ranges. Our beautiful brides are advised to take into account the time for alterations can take around 6-12 weeks.

Styles available

EveryBody/EveryBride covers every silhouette, with A-line gowns well represented with classic shapes that flatter across a range of figures, and the ballgowns bring full tulle or organza skirts with structured bodices for a traditional bridal entrance.

Fit-and-flare shapes follow the body through the torso and hip before opening at the knee, the mermaid and sheath options keep things close and fitted with lace or beading carrying the design.

The current collections include on-trend details like corset bodices with visible boning, statement bows at the waist or trailing from the skirt, detachable sleeves, off-shoulder and sweetheart necklines, and lace overlays with 3D floral applique.

Because the styles come from both Stella York and Essense of Australia, the range spans two different design personalities: Stella York’s playful, trend-driven approach with bolder details and Essense of Australia’s romantic, classic feel with finer lacework and more intricate embellishment. Our stylists can pull from either or both brands depending on your taste.

We hold EveryBody/EveryBride sample gowns in store in sizes 18 to 34, and our stylists use clipping and pinning to show you exactly how each dress will look and feel when it’s made in your size. Your appointment is the same 90 minutes with expert style advice and a glass of fizz that every bride at Bijoux gets.

If you arrive five or ten minutes early, you’re welcome to have a look through the rails before your appointment starts, and plenty of brides find something on the hangers that catches their eye before they’ve even sat down. From there, we’ll try different silhouettes and levels of detail to narrow down what works, pulling from EveryBody EveryBride and across our other designers as we go, and because the EveryBody/EveryBride gowns sit on the rail alongside the rest of our 500+ dresses in UK sizes 6 to 36, there is no separate section or separate experience. Once you’ve found your dress and ordered, our independent seamstress handles any final alterations. They work with Essense gowns regularly, so they know the construction well.
