Bridal shopping at Bijoux kicks off with a private 90-minute appointment, entirely yours from the moment you arrive until you leave. Your seasoned bridal stylist starts by exploring the wedding details: the venue, the season, any gowns that have piqued your interest online, and anything you’ve already dismissed. Armed with that brief, they choose gowns from across the store to fit your description, and they’ll usually add a few you’d never have chosen yourself but that they reckon will suit you.
Set to try some on? Trying everything on happens in a fitting area with your loved ones (up to three people, and we can welcome more on request!), where our talented stylists are right there to support you with buttons, lacing, and explaining exactly how the different fabrics and silhouettes suit your figure.
At Waterloo, we don’t watch the clock, and we don’t expect any decisions to be made during your visit. Some brides find their ideal gown during that very first consultation, whilst others opt to return for a follow-up appointment to refine their choices.

As soon as you have said yes to your gown, our independent seamstress steps in to take over. Since she collaborates so closely with the boutique, your seamstress is already acquainted with the dress, the designer’s construction methods, and just how the gown is meant to sit.
Their expertise includes everything from hemming and bustle construction to more major adjustments such as adding sleeves, adjusting a neckline, restructuring a bodice, or incorporating lace detailing to personalise a gown.
Arranging your alterations at the same store where the gown was bought translates into fewer appointments and much less travel between locations, whilst your stylist remains personally engaged throughout the process to guarantee the finished dress mirrors precisely what the two of you pictured together. Do I need to book an appointment?
Absolutely. Each bride enjoys a dedicated 90-minute appointment with her own dedicated stylist, and we deliberately restrict how many consultations happen at the same time so the boutique stays calm and unhurried. To book your place, book online or call us on 01698 200 122.
What sizes do you stock?
Our in-store gowns are on offer in UK sizes 6 to 36 across the entire designer collection. During your visit, you will sample dresses in your true size, and once you have picked your favourite style, it will be made to order.
Can I bring guests to my bridal appointment?
You are invited to bring up to three people with you, and should you like to bring more, simply contact us and we will do our very best to make arrangements. Most brides prefer to bring their mum, a sister, or a few close friends, but the decision is totally yours. Some brides choose to attend the first visit alone, then bring others along to a second appointment once they have whittled down their options.
How far in advance should I start wedding dress shopping?
We recommend scheduling your initial appointment approximately twelve to eighteen months prior to your wedding date, as the majority of designer bridal gowns require four to six months for delivery following the order being placed. Should your wedding be within a tighter timeframe, please do still get in touch with us.
Hundreds upon hundreds of dresses are available in store, with many available to take home the same day, and rush production is available through a number of our designers.
