Your experienced bridal stylist begins the conversation by asking about your wedding day, including the venue, the time of year, any gowns that have sparked your interest online, and any styles you have already ruled out. With these particulars in mind, she carefully selects gowns from across the boutique that fit your description, and she will usually introduce a few surprising choices that you would not have picked yourself but that she is confident will suit you beautifully.
Set to start trying on? Sampling each gown happens in a dedicated fitting space with your guests (up to three people, and we can welcome more on request!), where our brilliant stylists are always nearby to assist with buttons, lacing, and describing exactly how various fabrics and silhouettes complement your figure.
At Clifton, we never watch the clock, and we don’t expect any decisions to be made during your visit. Certain brides find their ideal gown during that very first consultation, whilst others choose to return for a follow-up appointment to narrow down their choices.

Do I need to book an appointment?
Absolutely. Each bride is given a private 90-minute session with her own personal stylist, and we deliberately restrict how many consultations happen concurrently so the boutique stays calm and unhurried. To book your slot, book online or call us on 01698 200 122.
What sizes do you stock?
Our showroom gowns span UK sizes 6 to 36 across the full designer range. During your appointment, you’ll try dresses in your true size, and we then make your chosen gown to order.
Can I bring guests to my bridal appointment?
Invite up to four guests along, and if you want bringing more, just let us know and we’ll try our hardest to sort it out! Most brides rock up with their mum, a sister, or a few close friends, but really? It’s entirely your call. Some brides in fact prefer coming on their own for that first visit, then bringing the gang along for a second appointment once they’ve narrowed down their favourites.
How far in advance should I start wedding dress shopping?
Here’s the exciting bit! We advise booking your initial appointment approximately 12 to 18 months prior to your big day, because most designer wedding gowns take a solid four to six months to arrive after ordering. Wedding coming up sooner? Don’t stress, talk to us anyway!
Our boutique holds hundreds of gowns, some of which can be taken home the same day, and rushed production can also be arranged through many of our designers.
Do you sell bridesmaid dresses?
Absolutely! We carry beautiful bridesmaid dresses from designer brands that perfectly complement our bridal collections, and you’ll discover a fabulous selection of colours, lengths and fabrics to select from!
