Our stylists start with a conversation, sharing the excitement of your big day.
They’ll ask what you love, what you’ve saved, what you keep coming back to. From that conversation, they’ll pull together a first selection from across the whole boutique.
Browsing the rails yourself is just as welcome, trying dresses on whenever something catches your eye.
Nothing about the appointment is fixed to a set number of try-ons, so it runs at whatever pace suits you.
If a sample on the rail runs a size away from your own, clipping and pinning shows you how the dress will genuinely sit.
That’s how it’ll look once it’s made for you, and it’s standard bridal practice here, not a compromise.
Silhouettes and styles on the rails
Ballgowns, sheath styles, a-line, and fishtail (also called mermaid) all sit within reach at Bijoux.
Softer, more relaxed silhouettes are there too, for a bride after something less structured and more flowy.
Two-look gowns, with a detachable overskirt or a change of sleeves partway through the day, have become a real favourite too.

That’s ideal if your wedding is coming up fast, or you are simply too excited to wait!
Quick Delivery
Quick Delivery is the route for a brand-new gown made just for you, on a shorter lead time of around twelve weeks.
Made to Order dresses
Made to Order is for brides who love the traditional experience of waiting, knowing that somewhere your gown is being crafted especially for you.
It’s the route to take if you have time to fully enjoy the process. It needs booking further ahead, ideally seven months or more before your wedding date.
Alterations after you’ve said yes
Once your Made to Order gown arrives, it goes to alterations.
One independent seamstress handles fittings, and she knows each designer’s patterns inside out.
The work she does covers the standard alterations most gowns need, like taking up a hem or adjusting the fit through the side seams. Some gowns also need a bustle added for the reception.
Most alterations take six to twelve weeks, with fittings along the way to check progress.

Free parking sits right outside on Castle Street, so there’s no need to hunt for a space. Hamilton West station is a short walk away too, if you’d rather leave the car at home.

- Take your time. A second visit is always an option if you’d rather go away and think it over.
- Order and alter. Once you’ve chosen, your order goes in, and an independent seamstress takes care of alterations from there.

Can I just walk into Bijoux without booking?
No. Every visit to Bijoux is by appointment only, which is exactly what gives our stylists room to focus fully on you. Booking ahead, online or by phone, is how every visit starts.
How far in advance should I start wedding dress shopping?
Made to Order gowns typically take five months to arrive, with a further six to twelve weeks needed for alterations once they’re in-store. We recommend booking your first appointment seven months or more before your wedding date, though Quick Delivery and Ready-to-Wear both suit a shorter timeline.
How many guests can I bring?
Standard bookings allow for four. Let us know if you’d like to bring more when you book, and we’ll see what we can arrange.
What is a decent budget for a wedding dress?
It depends entirely on which collection suits you. Ready-to-Wear runs from £499 to £999, while Made to Order sits higher, reflecting the wider personalisation on offer. Our stylists will always talk you through the options honestly once they know what you’re drawn to.
